What To Expect

As a new client of Rolling Hills Animal Hospital, you can expect our full attention to your pets’ needs and their care. You will find our hospital inviting, clean and comfortable with a team of professionals ready to provide exceptional client service and veterinary health care.

Prior to coming in for your appointment, you will receive a reminder call from our office one day prior to your visit. It is important to bring in any medical history you have of your pet with you when you come to our hospital. We will be happy to make copies for your pet’s record with us. These records can be from your breeder, the Humane Society, a rescue organization or previous owner. These are important as they give a medical history for your pet that we can use as a basis for their care and treatment here.

When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly by a member of our reception team. Once we check your pet’s weight, one of our veterinary technicians will usher you into an examination room and begin to ask questions about your pet’s medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit, gathering information for the doctor.

Next, one of our veterinarians will examine your pet, ask you further questions and then give a recommendation for diagnostics which may include bloodwork and radiographs. Once we have results, your doctor will discuss a possible diagnosis and treatment plan. We encourage you to be fully engaged in this process. Don’t hesitate to ask questions! Our veterinary team wants to make sure you are completely comfortable with the information we are providing and the recommended course of action. In some circumstances, our doctors may refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery.

Finally, our veterinary technician will go over any specific instructions as well as review any prescription medications if needed. Our front desk staff will process your payment and schedule any needed follow up. Please keep in mind that our goal is to see all our clients and patients in a timely manner. However, we sometimes encounter emergencies and have appointments with sick patients that take longer than expected. We ask for your patience during these times as we would give your pet the same care and attention under the same circumstances.

We realize that you have many choices for a veterinarian in Carroll County and the surrounding area. We are privileged that you chose us!
