Brad Gividen, D.V.M

Dr. Brad Gividen, originally from Middletown, Ohio (a suburb of Cincinnati) attended Ohio State University for his undergraduate and veterinary education. After graduating vet school, he moved to Maryland where he has been in private practice for over 17 years, 15 of which have been in Carroll County. In 2008 he took over Rolling Hills Animal Hospital. Dr. Brad enjoys small animal medicine and surgery as well as caring for the occasional pocket pet.

He is married with one son, Mason, and a 9 month old daugher, Harper. He also has two grown up step children. His family includes a dog, a cat, two rabbits and several fish. He enjoys time outdoors: hiking, riding four-wheelers, gardening and working in the yard. Most of all, he enjoys working with his clients and their pets.

Maurene Sutton, D.V.M.

Dr. Maurene Sutton was born in Lunenburg, Virginia where her family raised commercial beef cows.  She attended Virginia Tech and received her Bachelor's degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences in 2003.  She continued her education there and graduated from the Virginia-Maryand Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007.  When Maurene first moved to Carroll County, she predominately practiced on dairy cattle at a mixed animal hospital but then transitioned to a companion animal veterinarian and has been practicing in the area for the last 9 years.  She is married to Jeff with one daughter, Lucy, and one step daughter, Jillian.  Maurene enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, Hokie football and any excuse to be outside.

Nancy Auclair, D.V.M

Dr. Nancy Auclair lives in Ellicott City with her husband and rescue pup Zoe, and cat Slinky. She has taken care of patients and their families in Maryland since the early 1990's. On her 'off time' she travels with Ralph, and kayaks on the lakes and rivers in Maryland.

Kelly Makowiecki, Office Manager

Kelly has recently joined our team in July 2014.    She has been in veterinary practice management for the last 11+ years in both general and specialty practice settings.  Prior to that, Kelly worked for Legg Mason Wood Walker Inc in Baltimore doing corporate finance.  She attended Salisbury University on the eastern shore and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business/Financial Management.

Kelly lives in Westminster with her husband and 12 year old son, Peyton.  They have a 7 year old Labrador Retriever named Journey.  In her spare time, she likes to read, travel to the beach, spend time with family and watch Peyton play football.  She is a proud season ticket holder to the two time Superbowl Champion Baltimore Ravens.

Danette Comer, Registered Veterinary Technician

Danette Comer has been a veterinary technician since September 1998. She became a registered technician in 2002 after completing her Bachelor’s degree at Villa Julie College in 2001. She was previously an emergency technician before joining Rolling Hills part time when it opened in April 2008, then became full-time in November 2010. Danette became a mother in December 2008 to a beautiful daughter. Her fur babies consist of 4 cats (Barlee, Diesel, Duke and Rita) and 2 mini-rex rabbits named Clover and Timothy. She enjoys camping, relaxing, bike riding and running when time allows. Danette sells Scentsy and Jamberry to support her bag and LuLaRoe habit.

She has worked as a team member and in supervisory positions at several animal hospitals in and around the Baltimore Metropolitan area. She also worked with an orthopedic and soft tissue surgeon as well as a radiologist where she was responsible for the care of hyperthyroid cats that were undergoing a radioactive iodine treatment known as I-131.

Born and raised in Maryland, Mary has been working in the veterinary field for over 22 years. She has worked as a team member and in supervisory positions at several animal hospitals in and around the Baltimore Metropolitan area. Mary has been with Rolling Hills since her husband took over the practice in 2008. She works as a part-time employee splitting her time between the front desk and assisting the doctors. She enjoys interacting with the clients and their pets. Her special interests include educating pet owners about proper care and training of their furry family members with an emphasis on creating a strong bond from the beginning with new puppies and kittens.

Outside of the hospital, Mary enjoys vacations to the Outer Banks (among other beaches), gardening, cooking, and her guilty pleasure of watching reality TV shows. She shares her home with her husband-Brad, their son-Mason, their dog-Stella, cat-Chili, and rabbits named Skittles and Nugget. She has two older children, Jessica and Zachary. Jessica works as a veterinary assistant at an animal hospital in Pennsylvania but fills in at Rolling Hills when needed.

Erin Whiting, Veterinary Technician

Erin has been a veterinary technician since 2003.  She comes with a range of experience having worked in the specialty practices of neurology, orthopedics, emergency medicine as well as general practice.

Erin has a daughter, Kaylee, and a fur baby, Tyrion.  She enjoys playing softball on the #1 ranked team in Carroll County, watching the Orioles and playing cornhole!

Alison Norquest, Veterinary Technician

Alison served four years on active duty in the United States Coast Guard doing search and rescue as well as law enforcement. Following her service, she worked as an EMT on a private ambulance and volunteer ambulance. Alison began working as a veterinary technician in the early 90s at 140 Veterinary Hospital.

She has also worked at Owings Mills Animal and Bird Hospital, Main Street Veterinary Hospital and Hunt Valley Animal Hospital (where she remains on the relief roster.) She joined Rolling Hills Animal Hospital in December of 2011. Alison also works part time at Central Carroll Animal Emergency next door. Her furry son Sig is her constant companion and is frequently seen making new friends at Rolling Hills.

Dana Brownley, Veterinary Technician

Dana was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She has been a Carroll County resident since 1994. She has been a veterinary technician since 1999 and has worked at several veterinary hospitals in Baltimore and Carroll counties.

Dana currently resides in Hampstead with his husband John, her son River, and her stepdaughter Aurora. She also shares her home with 2 dogs (Hailey and Boh) and a cat (Clarice).

In her free time she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends, shopping, and reading.
